Photographers who happen to use Nikon are quite excited about the D3. Personally, since the D3 and appropriate lenses will mean a significant expense even with my existing lenses, I've been considering the 1Dmk3 as well. Brand is of no significance to me as long as the tool delivers the performance I need. Either way, it's a great time to be a consumer -- the stellar performance of the Mark III and the D3 will only mean better cameras in the future. If Nikon comes out on top this round, so be it.
