My friend Carsten Windhorst just had his first major magazine feature published in Digital SLR User. Carsten approached the UK magazine about doing a story on photographing a concert and publication jumped at the opportunity.
For the article, Carsten set up credentials for a Scissor Sisters concert at the O2 arena in London. His challenge? To teach the features editor, Charlotte, everything she needed to know to photograph the event.

Judging by the images, it looks like Carsten did a great job, and both photographers produced a nice set of images from the gig.
For more info, check out Carsten’s site, Front Rows, Pits and Pavements, where you can view the article and look at more of his work.

Hi Todd,
Quick note to compare notes on REO…I shot them at Moondance Jam classic rock festival July 18, 2010 and they along with Benatar, Sammy Hagar and a couple other headliners were being taped by DirecTV. This added a couple of stops of lighting but more importantly made shooting quite enjoyable with constant even, white lighting (balanced for teleision) Was just wondering if DirecTV
was setup at the venue your shot REO at? An odd sidenote: Festival headliner
Lynyrd Skynyrd wasn’t taped by DirecTV and it was quite obvious that I was back
to the light on performer changing every 5-10 seconds…Still working on getting galleries up on my site for three days of concerts. Thanks and happy shooting, Bruce.
