Thank you, pleased to hear you enjoyed the work. Drummers are usually the most difficult members of the band to photograph, so I always try to get at least one solid shot of them. 

Your son was a great subject.

Since I&#039;m using manual mode, I&#039;m essentially in control of the exposure 100%, and sometimes my exposure differs from that recommended by the meter. Actually, most of the time I&#039;m not even looking at the meter. Effectively, there is EV compensation relative to exposure the camera indicates, but this isn&#039;t necessarily a conscious decision on my part, since the meter isn&#039;t really as involved in the exposure process.

Basically, I go by the histogram and what the image looks like on the LCD (which for the D2x, is actually fairly accurate).</description>
