Just one shot for today, from Tyga’s performance in support of Metro Station. I set up one SB-600 speedlight camera left on a speaker stack and triggered it with the Nikon SB-900.
Luckily, I’ve had the opportunity to use flash more and more, and Tyga’s set was an interesting chance to experiment. The show featured heavy amounts of smoke, which generally worked pretty well with the single flash without washing out too badly.
It’s been a busy week, with sets coming up from Metro Station, Forever The Sickest Kids, Cobra Starship, Panic at the Disco, Dashboard Confessional, and more. Stay tuned!

Cool shot — it’s awesome you are getting to use CLS more and more. It will be interesting to see the results for this set, along with the promos of Cobra.
Sorry I’m so far behind on your previous sets — I promise to try and get to them soon!

Hey Chris, no sweat about catching up, thanks for the comment. It’s nice to have the option for wireless flash, that’s for sure.
Promos for Cobra Starship never happened, unfortunately. The band was running late, things got pushed back, and we ran out of time!
this one looks pretty cool. look forward to see your sets (and oh, esp FTSK haha)
Hi Jessie, thanks. I think the FTSK set turned out pretty well for how crowded the stage was, probably one of the better sets for flash this weekend. I should be posting that set in a few days.
The venues are cool with you using flashes? Even when I have permission from the band for it I’ve had the venue shut it down.
This venue’s policies are dictated by those of the band, and the use of flash was cleared for this event.
