Preview: Tim Convy of Ludo

Concert Photos: Ludo @ the Pageant

Just a quick preview from Ludo’s show at the Pageant last night, with Tim Convy mugging for the audience. Tim is one of the nicest guys in the business, lays down a mean Moog line, and is always fun to photograph.

I made this shot with the Nikon D3 and Nikon 50mm f/1.4 at ISO 3200. The lighting for this show was relatively dim, though what it lacked in frontlighting it made up for with haze over the stage.

When he’s not rocking ou on the keys, Tim is always engaging the crowd to the left of his setup. I knew that one image I wanted from this show was a shot of Tim playing it up for the audience.

Given the lighting situation, I twisted on the little 50mm and for this image, shot at around f/1.6 and 1/125.

More photos from Ludo’s show coming up soon, so stay tuned!

Used to work with the Ludo guys. Hands down some of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet & a great rock show. Did Chris shoot them at their last show in NYC or no?

    • Todd says:

      Hey Mike,

Thanks for the comment. I agree – completely nice guys, the kind of band you hope goes on to greatness.

I don’t think Chris shot their last show for this tour, no.

I think I saw your camera peeking out over the lip of the stage during the show – I was in the back. :) I love Tim’s dancing & mugging for the audience, you can tell he loves what he’s doing.

It’s great to see someone who loves what they do so much – that’s one reason Tim (and everyone else in Ludo) is so fun to photograph. Thanks for the comment.

Fantastic as always! I was at that show (my first at the Pageant in a LONG time), and as a newbie photographer, it was very fun watching you work during the sets. Looking forward to the rest of the shots!!!

      Hey Mel,

Thanks for the comment! Hope you got some good shots as well. Should be posting the rest of the shots this coming week. Also, stay tuned for portrait shots of The New Heathers, the Ludo side project Tim, Tim, and Matt are working on.
