Yes, Hanson are still around. And, as their fans will tell you, they are still rocking stages across the country – including most recently the main stage at The Bamboozle.

Photographer’s Notes:

After photographing the Aquabats, Hanson was up next. I’d photographed these guys back in 2008, but photographing them outdoors with natural light was a tremendous departure from Hanson’s show at the Pageant. For one, all of the band members were nicely lit for this show, rather than just Taylor by spotlight as with my previous shoot.

Thanks to the abundant lighting, I had the luxury of stopping down one-stop with the Nikon 70-200m f/2.8, shooting at a quadruple-digit shutter speed, and shooting at the base ISO of the D3. For all the heat and work of outdoor festivals, there are certainly some perks in the technical approach.

While I also had the Nikon 24-70mm on the D700, the telephoto was really perfect for photographing Hanson.

    Great photos, Todd.

May I ask the dimensions of the vertical photos?

    Thanks!

I always love the way your vertical photographs look. Something about them really stands out for me.

Thanks for the kind words, I was just curious. I used to only do 600x400px images, but have started doing all 600px-wide images now, so the large images end up at 900px tall for a better flow.
