After Kandi warmed up the stage and kicked off the night, R&B singer Eric Benét threw down a smooth performance that had the ladies of the audience dancing in the aisles. I love photographing performers with Benét's charisma and command of the spotlight – it makes my job easy.

Photographer's Notes:

Cameras Used:

Lenses Used:

This was a really fun set to photograph, as Eric was a great subject. The only real complaint I could voice would be that, as one of the openers, I would have loved a more lush visual treatment for the performance Benét put down. Of course, all the big lights were being saved for the main event – Fantasia Barrino.

Stay tuned for the full set from Fantasia's set, coming up next.

A perfect pair to the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8, I can basically shoot any job with the midrange and this lens. Superb image quality.
nikon-14-24mm-f28-lens-squareNikon 14-24mm f/2.8:
Ultra-wide perspective, ridiculously sharp even wide open at f/2.8. I love using this lens up-close and personal, where it excels.
