After Kandi warmed up the stage and kicked off the night, R&B singer Eric Benét threw down a smooth performance that had the ladies of the audience dancing in the aisles. I love photographing performers with Benét’s charisma and command of the spotlight – it makes my job easy.

This was a really fun set to photograph, as Eric was a great subject. The only real complaint I could voice would be that, as one of the openers, I would have loved a more lush visual treatment for the performance Benét put down. Of course, all the big lights were being saved for the main event – Fantasia Barrino.
Stay tuned for the full set from Fantasia’s set, coming up next.

If Mr. Benét knew anything about French, he’d be aware that the termination -ét doesn’t exist.
And that, by the way, benêt is French for dumbass.
Oh and cool shots as usual, Todd :)
Hey, just realized it was his mother’s maiden name ! Makes sense then, the family name may come from their own inability to write it right. I apologize :D
I’m staying out of that argument… But thanks for the comments! Ha…
BTW, really liking your recent photos from museums. Lovely work.
Benet is a variant of Bennett which means “Blessing”! (t
he vernacular of Benedict) Inaddition, it is of French and Latin origin. BTW it is very rude to call someone a dumb a**. Mr. Jordan is a very gracious and kind individual and Benet is his middle name. Just an FYI.
His name fits him perfectly, considering he is blessing many with the sound of his b
eautiful voice. :-)

OMG I never saw this link until today. That girl in that pic is ME!!! Thank you for capturing our moment!!!
@dpc
Actually, Benet is Eric’s middle name. His father gave him his middle after Stephen Vincent Benet. BTW, Stephen Vincent had the same diacritical mark over the e just like Eric’s.
Great pictures Todd. Love the angles of each shot.
