Quick three-image preview from last night’s exuberant performance by Matt & Kim last night at the Pageant. This show was such a blast to shoot – Matt and especially Kim wore the biggest grins in the venue.

Hey Todd,
Is the 75-150 a manual lens?
Thanks!
Kayley
Hi Kayley,
Yes, the 75-150mm is a manual focus lens. You can read more about it here, I just did a review:
http://ishootshows.com/2011/06/21/review-nikon-75-150mm-f3-5-series-e/
It’s cheap, sharp, and worked great on the Nikon D7000 I used for this show. However, all the above preview images were shot with the Nikon 24-70mmm f/2.8. I just used the telephoto for a few close-up shots that you’ll see in the full set. Thanks for the comment!
Hey Todd, stunning images! What do you think of the D7000, is it worth to trade my D300s for a new D7000 for shooting at shows? Since you’re an expert at this field and you’re using it, there must be a reason :D
Hey Alex,
Thanks for the comment.
You can see what I think of the Nikon D7000 here:
http://ishootshows.com/2011/01/11/review-nikon-d7000-nikons-best-dx-camera/
I have reviewed almost every piece of major gear that I use, so you can always check the gear write-ups.
In terms of ergonomics, interface, buffer, and AF performance, I think the D300s is a better camera. At high ISO, the D7000 is Nikon’s best DX camera.
I have the D7000 on loan to me because my main cameras are being repaired. That said, I have no hesitations about using it for a gig like this. The camera performs like a champ. If you do get it, I would highly recommend the grip.
Hey Todd! Thanks for the link, I’ve read a lot of reviews but most of them weren’t really helpful. I think I prefer my D300s + grip ergonomics , buffer and AF performance and I’ll keep using it till the D800/whatever is the name comes out. Congrats for your work and your using of social media/internet tools and marketing, it really works ;)
Greetings from Spain!
