Thank You For Supporting ishootshows.com

As we near the end of 2011, if I may take a break from the concert posts, gear reviews and photography articles, I’d like to take a brief moment to say thank you to everyone who supports www.ishootshows.com.

When I started www.ishootshows.com in mid-2007, I never thought that it would be anything more than a personal “blog.” Sure, I knew that I wanted to share what I could about photography as well as what I was shooting, but I never would have thought that I’d have the regular audience that I do now. If you’re reading this, thank you.

In fact, I’m happy to say that because of your appetite for music photography and photo articles, as of last week I’ve moved www.ishootshows.com to the scalable Cloud Hosting at Rackspace.

And while server costs for this kind of hosting costs about 20x your average web hosting plan, I’m considering it a good problem to have. But also, here’s where you guys can help out.

You may have noticed that when I mention the photo gear I use, I often link to the product page at B&H Photo Video or Amazon.com. In fact, you may have even clicked through and bought something through one of these links. Whether you know it or not, every single one of those purchases helps support this site.

Specifically, funds from all those affiliate programs help pay for the servers that you’re apparently burning up reading about music photography, gear reviews, and my constant insistence that you wear earplugs. OK, and if there’s any extra it also helps keep me in tea as well.

Furthermore, every time you make a purchase through B&H, Amazon or eBay, the cents-on-the-dollar that I receive helps me write content for this site, whether it’s something like a review of the Nikon 85mm f/1.4G, a tutorial on building a DIY Beauty Dish, or an article on sharpening in Adobe Lightroom.

But I digress. What I mean to say is this: thank you.

Thank you for reading. Thank you for loving music photography.

Whether you tweet about an image set or article you liked, tell a friend about this site, or even make purchases through my affiliate links, I truly appreciate the support.

Thanks for running one of the most inspirational photog sites out there, Todd. Hope 2012 is full of great gigs, bad-ass lights and lots of tea!
