With respect to the buzz of Lil Wayne’s release from Riker’s Island today after an eight-month stint on lockup, I thought I’d post some of my favorite shots from Weezy’s 2008 performance at the Chaifetz Arena. This was an epic one-off performance in-the-round with a cruciform stage where photographers had full-set access. Easily one of [...]

Opening for Guster at the Pageant, LA-based Everest threw down a set of spacious rock that had the crowd bopping before the main event. I’d caught up with Everest earlier this year for a portrait shoot, but wasn’t able to catch their live set, so I was glad – and impressed – finally getting to [...]

Warped Tour — Backstage!

William Beckett and Michael Guy Chislett of The Academy Is…, photographed outside their tour bus Warped Tour 2008 marked a really fun, fast-paced assignment for RollingStone.com, with a large number of bands on the punchlist and a lot of hustle to make it all happen. Aside from live coverage, the backstage shoots were a big [...]

Freed from the precious trappings of their album recordings, the sexed-up live performance delivered a more raucous version of fan favorites while still remaining as pretty as Barnes in eyeliner and [...]

Regina Spektor @ the Pageant — 2007.11.12

Wearing a shimmering dark gray dress, Regina Spektor flew through a quick set that clocked in just over an hour, including the encore.
