Photos: The Dresden Dolls @ The Pageant

Screen shot 2010-11-17 at 9.39.56 AM

This may have been an anniversary show ten-years in the making, but for me, I went back four years to July of 2006, when I first photographed the Dresden Dolls opening for Panic! At The Disco at the Pageant. Since that show, I had the honor of photographing them later the same year on their [...]

Preview: The Dresden Dolls @ The Pageant

Screen shot 2010-11-17 at 12.12.14 AM

One shot from tonight’s Dresden Dolls show for their 10th Anniversary Tour at the Pageant. For a show with tough lighting compared to their epic 2008 show at the same venue and a five-song limit instead of full-set privileges, I have to admit that this show was just a little demoralizing in some respects. It’s amazing [...]

Photos: Papa Roach @ The Pageant

Screen shot 2010-10-20 at 9.48.47 AM

After Papa Roach’s killer performance last year at the Scottrade Center supporting Breaking Benjamin, I was psyched to hear that they were coming back to the Pageant. With killer lights, rockstar moves from frontman Jacoby Shaddix and guitar hero antics from Jerry Horton, there’s a lot to like about PR’s show. The only question for [...]

Photos: Drake @ The Fox Theater

Screen shot 2010-10-14 at 8.08.11 AM

After catching Drake at the Bamboozle in New Jersey this spring, I was excited to get an assignment to cover his headlining performance at the Fabulous Fox Theater. While his festival show had alright lighting, it was really Drake’s fun an engaging performance that really made for compelling images. For his gig at the Fox, [...]

Slipknot @ Mayhem Fest

Even before the kabuki curtain drop, the crowd is chanting in the dark, calling for nine masked men.

Machine Head @ Mayhem Fest

California-grown Machine Head brought the powder kegs and the fire in their performance at Mayhem Fest. Headlining the Jägermeister stage, the heavy metal four-piece ripped into their set with an intensity matched only by their ferocious fan base.

Al Green

July 13, 2008 – With a show that begin with him passing out long-stem roses to the ladies in the front row, The Reverend Al Green delivered a spirited performance to a sold-out crowd at the Fox Theatre.

Erykah Badu @ the Fox Theatre — 2008.05.29

Performing in support of her 2008 release, New Amerykah Part One (4th World War), Erykah Badu delivered an electrifying performance of jazz-tinged Neo-Soul at the Fox Theatre to joyous reception.

Ludo @ the Pageant — 2008.03.02

It’s been months since Ludo blasted the Pageant with confetti, flying poinsettias, and bombastic pop, but our ears have been ringing with melodic power chords ever since. Fresh off their A Very Ludo Chrismas tour, the St. Louis-natives bounced back into town for the release of their 2008, major-label debut, You’re Awful, I Love You [...]

Ours @ the Pageant — 2008.02.10

Ours opened for Marilyn Manson in a solid, 45-minute performance that laid down straight ahead rock in contrast to Manson’s particular brand of circus that followed.

Dresden Dolls Promo Shoot — 2008.01.06

Starting off 2008 properly, I photographed the Dresden Dolls in two very spur of the moment shoots before their performance at the Pageant. As anyone who has seen their live show can attest, this duo puts on an electric performance, and the two quick sessions we did were no less engaging as a photographer.

Gallery Show Opening, Newspaper Article in the Works

I just wanted to extend a huge thank you to everyone came out to the gallery opening this past Friday, as well as to everyone who has shown their support over the last month as we prepared for the exhibit.

An Exhibition of Concert Photography

I’m very pleased to announce that I’ll be exhibiting a collection of concert photography in my first-ever gallery show. The exhibition will include images of a range of talent, from solo artists such as Morrissey, Yoko Ono, and Tony Bennett to acts like the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Strokes.

Nada Surf @ the Gargoyle — 2007.10.22

Playing a sold out show at the Gargoyle, indie rockers Nada Surf started off the night with their anthemic hit “Popular,” from their 1996 debut High/Low. What followed was a string of more recent material, with a heavy selection from the 2005 release The Weight Is A Gift, performed in relative darkness in the cavernous [...]

MewithoutYou @ the Pageant — 2007.10.21

MewithoutYou‘s performance at the Pageant in support of Brand New was a quick half-hour set that found the band playing in a variety of dim washes as they brought a surprisingly raucous sound to the expectant crowd.
