Hey Monday

Hey Monday

Sometimes, all you need is one. At any rate, this single shot of Cassadee Pope of Hey Monday does it for me from the band's set on the Glamour Kills tour.

Photographer's Notes:

This was shot at the very end of Hey Monday's third song, the last photographers were allowed for this set. While the majority of the band's lighting up until this point had been red backlighting, the end of the third song presented a great opportunity with a bit of nice, white light from the back of the stage.

I was center-stage at the end of the song, and, as luck would have it, so was Cassadee.

This photo was made at 1/50 at ISO 1600 and f/2.8. I used the Nikon D3 and Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 at 50mm for this image.

End Notes:

Some of you may recall that I shot portraits of Hey Monday back when they were touring with The Academy Is and We The Kings – if you haven't seen them, you can check them out here.

My Camera DSLR and Lenses for Concert Photography

Nikon Z 7:
I use two Nikon Z 7 for my live music photography. A true do-it-all mirrorless camera with amazing AF, great speed and fantastic resolution.

Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8S:
The 24-70mm is my go-to lens. The range is ideal for stage front photography and the image quality is superb.

Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR:
A perfect pair to the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8, I can basically shoot any job with the midrange and this lens. Superb image quality.

Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8:
Ultra-wide perspective, ridiculously sharp even wide open at f/2.8. I love using this lens up-close and personal, where it excels.
