Proudly rocking his Vans at the Spitter Stage of The Bamboozle 2011, rap and internet phenom Lil B was a captivating subject at year's festival with multiple performances over the three-day event.
Photographer's Notes:
Cameras Used:
- Nikon D3
- Nikon D700

For photographing Lil B, I went in tight most of the time, favoring the Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 and longer end of the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8. In hindsight, I do regret not getting a few wider shots, but was ultimately happy focusing on more tightly framed portraits of the buzz rapper.
I do have to say that Lil B seems to know what makes a good photo – there was plenty of mugging for the crowd, which naturally benefited the three photographers in the pit.
I was especially happy to see Lil B rocking his well-worn and famous Vans on stage – he even took them off during his second song and help them aloft, which made for some good shooting.
