I'll be honest. I had no idea what to expect with Wild Tigers opening up for Story of the Year at the Pageant, and most of that came from their Myspace page. What I gleaned was that they have songs titled “Hot Woman In Dark Denim” and “The Alligator (Sex In The Swamp),” and a totally 80s band promo.

Questionable leads aside, I was completely blindsided by how much fun I had photographing these guys. Live, Wild Tiger put on a completely compelling and infectiously enthusiastic set, and I had a blast covering it.

Wild Tigers put on a really fun show (lots of Guitar Hero antics assured that) – I was certainly glad I showed up early to cover these guys.

Overall, lighting wasn't terribly bright, but I was happy that the LD broke out some white light on occasion during the first three songs. Of course, this was often paired with magenta lighting from the front, but still, I can't complain.

In terms of lenses, the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 on the Nikon D3 cleaned up. I've been shooting with this combination for over three years – I almost forget just how much I use these two. They're simply my go-to for most shows at the club level and larger.
