I caught up with indie/pop rockers The Academy Is… on their headlining tour with We The Kings and Hey Monday for a quick portrait session before their show.

In addition to the full band shots, we also did some very quick individual portraits. Here's one of The Butcher that I liked:

Time was tight and the sun was setting, but the guys were great in making this happen before their meet and greet. Nothing crazy, just a three-light set up and the evening sky.
You can actually see a bit of the progression of the daylight, even though this shoot was only about 15-25 minutes. By the end of the individual portraits, which we did last, I had the shutter speed dialed way down just to get some of the scene's ambient light into the exposure.
For these, the Nikon D3 and 24-70mm f/2.8 did the trick.
