I'd caught Shinedown on a couple occasions over the past years, and every time I've photographed them they've put on a tremendous, high-energy show. So when I heard that they were doing an acoustic set, my curiosity was piqued.
Having just caught Aaron Lewis of the hardrock band Staind in a very stripped down show just last month, I wondered if Shinedown would take on something of that flavor, or keep things a little more active.
As it turned out, even “acoustic,” Shinedown still rock out.
Photographer's Notes:
Overall, lighting was low for Shinedown during this acoustic set, but the band still received a really nice, lush treatment thanks to plenty of haze covering the stage.

Somewhat unexpectedly, I shot with the Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR for a large portion of this set, with the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 coming in second for the lens that delivered the most images included in the final set.
Both the little Nikon 50mm f/1.4 and Nikon 85mm f/1.4 came into play for a handful of images each as the light levels dropped.
