I came for Metric, but I'm glad that I stayed for Mary J. Blige. For me, MJB stole the show at Lilith Fair, hands down. Great lights, supreme confidence in the stage performance, a killer cover of “Stairway to Heaven.”
Photographer's Notes:
This show was just fun. Mary J. Blige put on such a great show under such nice lights, it made shooting a cakewalk.

BJB was constantly working the stage during the first three songs, so I shot primarily with the Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8. The new mark II version of the lens did a great job at keeping up with the singer on the D3 set to AF-C for continuous focusing.
